The Being a Faithful Church Task Force has been dissolved as it’s work has now been completed. The delegate body will now move into a listening phase in response to the BFC recommendations.
The ongoing health of our church requires that we continue to strengthen our overall capacity to discern the mind of God as the church engages the critical agenda of our time. This need/capacity to discern is important in all aspects of our life together.
It is important in how we worship, and in how we organize. It is also important in how we respond to questions of faithfulness that are within and among us. Themes that have been identified in the last years include being a peace church, unity and diversity in the life of the church, confessing and witnessing to Jesus Christ as Lord in a religiously pluralistic context, human sexuality in the life of the church; ecological concerns from a perspective of faith.
The BFC Task Force is currently focusing its energies on human sexuality in the life of the church.
