Job Header: 
Casual Receptionist Job Description
Position Purpose: 
To provide back-up reception and administrative assistance services on a casual basis.
Time Commitment: 
CAO & Director Church Engagement- Administration
Key Duties: 

70%    1.  Provide courteous and welcoming reception services:

  • Open and close the office
  • Greet incoming telephone callers and direct calls to the appropriate department
  • Greet guests at the reception desk and direct them to the appropriate department
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail and deliveries to the appropriate department
  • Keep the reception area tidy and inviting and keep literature in the lobby area current
  • Maintain the automated answering system

20%    2.  Provide administrative support as required:

  • Provide administrative and clerical support and assist with mailings as required
  • Update phone and mailing lists and staff schedules
  • Order and provide access to supplies as needed (office, coffee, building, etc.)

10%    3.  General office duties:

  • Monitor the general voice mailbox and office email address
  • Maintain the photocopier

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite; able to learn and use new technology
  • Willingness and ability to assist other staff as needed
